Our school also offers ESOL services for students as needed. BES is part of the Coffey County Special Education Cooperative and our staff includes special education teachers, speech pathologists, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, a school psychologist, and school social workers. These professionals work to serve the needs of our students.

BES is proud of our up-to-date classrooms wherein technology is an important component of everyday instruction. Every classroom is equipped with an interactive board for instructional purposes. Fourth grade has implemented a 1 to 1 laptop initiative, Grades 1-3  have a 1 to 1 iPad program, and Pre-K and Kindergarten have have technology available for small group instruction. All these opportunities are in addition to the three computer labs used daily for whole group instruction.

BES is fortunate to have an active parent organization known as PAWS (Parents Active Within School). The fundraising supported by this group for BES is an integral piece of some of the opportunities that are in place at BES such as The Great Artist Program. PAWS helps our school in many different ways including providing spirit shirts to students, collecting Hoover’s Receipts for classroom items, sponsoring special activities as well as supporting teachers in a variety of ways.
