Wrestling

Wrestling schedule is still up in the air. With the KSHSAA changes to state qualification, changes in league tournament and multiple events being cancelled we are still working on the wrestling schedule.

KSHSAA Changes to Post Season Qualification: KSHSAA has decided to create a 3 phase qualification process for State Wrestling. This was done to limit events to no more than 8 teams and 8 person brackets.

District qualification:                               Girls February 2^nd

                                                       Boys February 3^rd

Regional qualification:                               Boys February 12^th

                                                       Girls February 13^th

Sub-State qualification                             Girls February 19^th

                                                       Boys February 20^th

Each qualifying round the top 4 individuals in each weight class will advance to the next level of qualifying. State Tournament will now be a 1 day 8 person bracketed tournament. Additional information can be found on KSHSAA website under the wrestling tab.

Homecoming Recognition        moved to                 February 2^nd

• With the changes in KSHSAA Wrestling format, loss and rescheduling of games, BHS needed to move homecoming recognition to February 2^nd to include all participants.
  • Coronation will occur at half time of the boy’s varsity basketball game vs. Anderson Co.

Winter Activities Senior Recognition        moved to    February 9^th

• With changes to schedules and efforts to recognize all senior participants, BHS has moved senior recognition for all senior winter activity participants to February 9^th. Recognition will occur between the girl’s and boy’s varsity basketball games
  • Recognition will include:
    • Girls Basketball
    • Boys Basketball
    • Basketball Cheer
  • Wrestling / Wrestling Cheer senior recognition will occur on January 20^th
