Cough and sneeze, elbow please!  According to the CDC, the 2018-19 flu season is underway, but thankfully, Burlington schools have not yet been affected by the bug this winter.  When that time comes, please be aware of a new Kansas health regulation that states, “A person with a case of influenza is required to be isolated for SEVEN DAYS following onset of illness.”  This means that anyone that has tested positive for influenza and is experiencing flu-like symptoms (fever of >100°F and a cough and/or sore throat), needs to stay home from ALL PUBLIC PLACES (school, work, rec center, grocery store, etc.) for seven days after the symptoms developed. (Kansas Administrative Regulation 28-1-6).  Thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy!
